Born in 1974 in Kyoto, Japan.

In search of the roots of Japanese spiritual culture, he has traveled through the nature, culture and ideas of Asia.

His major publications include "A Chronicle of Tougenkyo: Ten Years with the People of Varsha Village", "Siddhartha's Journey", "A Journey on the Tea and Horse Trail: Visiting China's Tea Roads", and "The Great Yangtze River: In Search of Asia's Original Landscape".

Winner of the Konica Minolta FOTOPREMIO Grand Prize and the Kyoto Prefecture Culture Award.

Member of the Japan Professional Photographers Society.
