Born in Tokyo and graduated from the Department of Photography, Nihon University College of Art. Studied under the late Jun Miki and Takuya Tsukahara. In 1988, worked as an assistant at Stripe House Museum of Art in Roppongi, Tokyo, where he was in charge of photography while working as an advertising studio assistant. She has been freelancing for editorial and commercial shoots since then. He has had solo exhibitions with the avant-garde butoh dance group "Sankai Juku" and with his work on the theme of "Feng Shui" as an artist. He is the official photographer for Pope Francis' visit to Japan.
She is a member of the Japan Advertising Photographers' Association, a member of the Ministry of Finance's Customs Complaint Review Committee, and a lecturer at Nikon College.
